GPT-5.4 API price
Current price in US dollars — the same as on the pricing page. Pay in USDT, pay as you go, no subscription.
| model | input $ / 1M | output $ / 1M |
|---|---|---|
| gpt-5.4 | $3.00 cache read $0.30 >272K: $6.00 | $18.00 >272K: $27.00 |
Input is the regular price of input tokens, “cache read” is the price of input tokens served from the prompt cache, output is the price of output tokens. The price in your account may be lower.
The grey “>272K” line is the vendor’s official tier for long prompts: when a prompt exceeds the threshold, the whole request is billed at that tier.
What is GPT-5.4
GPT-5.4 is the main model of the GPT-5.4 family, alongside the lighter GPT-5.4 mini. OpenAI's model page calls it a more affordable model for coding and professional work, and OpenAI has not announced its deprecation.
Its key trait is the default reasoning effort of none: the model answers without reasoning, and you turn on low, medium, high or xhigh for harder requests. Its knowledge cutoff is the end of August 2025. GPT-5.4 understands images, supports function calling and structured outputs, and repeated prompt prefixes are cached automatically.
